Space Brain is a band made in Orlando Florida that has a mix of “heavy South American style with the break your face attitude of southern hardcore”.

This Hardcore band is infused with bloody and destructive beats and lyrics that could turn your dreams into nightmares.

Space Brain

The roots of Space Brain date from the beginning of 2010 and with such short time together they have already recorded a compilation of singles that are conveyed into one album called Space Brain.

Dj [MI]²

And now to bring you a little bit of out–of–town spice, we have the story of a young artist and photographer who dedicated her free time to her passion for the music.

Originally from Atlanta Georgia, Mimi traveled to Orlando where she started her career in the Fine Arts and departed from there to continue her dream in Santa Barbara where she studied photography and started her interest for electronic music.

The time-lapse above was shot by [MI]² herself one night while she was dj at Whiskey Richard’s.

So here is a little biography about my friend [MI]²

[MI]² had only been deejaying for a year before she found herself headlining Santa Barbara’s biggest clubs. She quickly became known for her hard-hitting electro sound. With a passion for music and a background in the arts, she made a full transition from deejaying college house parties to club residencies in a little less than two years, including being the resident DJ for the (now defunct but legendary) nightlife event company SBnightlife. She is currently working on progressing into the LA scene, where her career will surely continue to blossom.

Like we said earlier Mimi is about to finish her degree for photography at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. So its obvious that she has a passion for photography and she is really talented at it as well.

Mimi tries to combine both of her passions by sometimes taking pictures at her shows or bringing a disposable camera and having someone else document it for her.

Mr Dibs at the Drop Shop

The Electronic Music Culture in Orlando

Growing as a city and growing as an electronic music spot; Orlando is the house of many young djs who want to share their love for music and keep it alive.

So is the case of my friend Jeffrey Colon (a.k.a. Mr Dibs)

Dibs is one of our local electronic music disc jockeys. Known by being part of the underground music crowd of Orlando that frequently hang out at the record store on Robinson Street by Downtown Orlando called “The Drop Shop”

Self tought, this young dj enjoys to spin for the love of music and the lovers of the culture.

Dibs has a Saturday spot at The Drop Shop where anything goes down. So if you are an electronic music fan come and check it out!
